GRO Biosciences is leveraging breakthrough technologies from computational protein design and synthetic biology to develop best-in-class protein therapeutics with enhanced properties. VP, Corporate Development

GRO Biosciences (GRObio) is hiring business development personnel to drive commercialization of products arising from the company’s recoded organism technology. Recoded organisms enable efficient production of proteins using an expanded amino acid alphabet. Imagine working for a biotechnology company that doesn’t have to play by the rules of its competitors. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Corporate Development will be driving deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation activities of technology, and product-focused collaborations and opportunities. Major job responsibilities include secondary market analysis, customer discovery, strategic outreach, and driving and structuring deal flow for the company’s products. 


  • Execute on GRObio’s partnership strategy, developing investment cases for various deal opportunities, including deal-specific financial analysis, market research and competitive landscape review for current and potential platform products

  • Interface with R&D team to align product development with partnering discussions

  • Run customer discovery in prospective markets

  • Engage with new strategic partners, manage existing strategic relationships, and develop meaningful relationships with potential partner companies

  • Assist in crafting commercialization strategies for non-dilutive funding

  • Clearly communicate results and recommendations with team both in-person and online 


  • Requisite experience

    • JD, MBA, Masters degree in business, finance, or a related field, and/or advanced scientific degree

    • 2+ years in business development and transaction experience in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, synthetic biology, systems biology, biological engineering, or another related field

    • Relevant experience in licensing partnership structuring, collaboration agreements negotiations, analytical evaluation, and transaction process management is a plus 

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Desired experience

    • Prior work in procuring non-dilutive funding and grant writing

    • Experience engaging with patient advocacy groups and regulatory agencies
